A note of the current situation in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is in crisis. After years of economic mismanagement, months of inflation and shortages of essentials, the people have had enough. The popular protest movement you see on the news has been building for months.
The people of Sri Lanka are in the middle of a modern revolution, and we believe they won’t stop until a fundamental change occurs. Not just changing the leader, but instead transforming a broken system.
Some weeks or months of political, social, and economic turmoil are likely ahead. Change takes time, revolutions of all types are turbulent, and Sri Lanka is no different.
The reality of travelling to Sri Lanka and Lanka Yoga is a different story. We are far away from the action in the capital city and have contingencies for all issues facing Sri Lanka. What we mean by that is that guests at Lanka Yoga won’t feel any personal challenges. We assure all guests that your basic needs will not only be met during your stay with us, but your needs for adventure, relaxation, and learning will also. We are privileged to ‘hold your hand’ from airport to arrival and back again, making sure every moment of your trip in Sri Lanka has the support you need in these times.
We also want to confirm that no matter how hard things get, we will find a way to operate normally. Retreats, hotel stays and guests are welcome; we even have guests staying with us now!
We have kept all our staff on board throughout this time on full pay to help support them and our community.
Furthermore, for the adventurous traveller, it’s a great time to be in Sri Lanka. It’s quiet in the often-crowded tourist spots, with stories of surf breaks enjoyed by one or two travellers. More than ever, the air is clean from the lack of trucks, and the people appreciate tourism.
We understand that at these times, your needs for safety and certainty might not be met by the current situation. But if they are, we are still here! From all the owners, management and staff of Lanka Yoga, we hope to see you soon at our little paradise.

Sri Lanka, travel and Covid-19
The current regulations for entering Sri Lanka for tourism (and Yoga) are fair, safe, and easy to manage. The general rules for all arrivals are:
If you are ‘fully vaccinated;’ which means that you have had your second dose of a Covid 19 vaccine more than 14 days before travel, you should:
- No PCR test required anymore
- On arrival you’re allowed to travel without restriction.
Then if you aren’t fully vaccinated you must:
For those who have received both doses of a vaccine, it makes travel more or less like normal. For those who haven’t, the quarantine period at your choice of hotel is the restriction. There are many hotels with Ayurveda, Surf, Safaris and more.
The other consideration is what are the rules for return to your home country. Please check what would be the process for returning from Sri Lanka to make sure any testing or isolations requirements are manageable on your return.

Deposit and refund policy
Upon yoga teacher training application, a €400 non-refundable, but transferable deposit will be required to hold your space. You are free to adjust the date as many times as needed within reason. Please note date changes are limited to more than 30 days before the training starts.
Full payment is due to a minimum of 45 days prior to that date. If you apply less than 45 days prior to the commencement date, specific arrangements will be made to have the full fee paid prior to the start of the training.
If the balance of the course fee is not received by the notified due date, your place may be offered to someone on the waiting list, and you will forfeit the deposit paid. The price is the exact amount to be received by us, irrespective of fluctuations in currency and irrespective of any third-party transfer charges. If you choose to pay by electronic transfer, please instruct your bank to charge all costs to you in order to avoid a shortfall in the amount that we receive.
Refund and canceling policies
If such cancellation is made 30 days or less before the start of the YTT, we will retain the full amount. However, if another person can be found to take your place, then we may offer you a 50% refund at our discretion.
Once the YTT has begun, no refund or part refund, or unused portion of the YTT will be repaid in the event of cancellation by you. Bookings are for the stated period of the YTT. There are no refunds for any unused portion of a YTT.
In the unlikely circumstance that Stefan Camilleri Yoga has to cancel the training, Stefan Camilleri Yoga will refund the full amount paid up to that date.
Stefan Camilleri Yoga will NOT refund any other costs including but not limited to costs associated with flights, transfers or transfer flights, or any other costs that may have been incurred.
Students need to purchase Travel Insurance to cover any situation that may arise, such as illness, change of ticket dates, family emergency, acts of God, war, closure of airports, etc.
NOTE: In the instance that refunds are required, Stefan Camilleri Yoga requests that you MUST contact your Travel Insurance Company in the first instance, to claim what is available. We will then pay any remaining refund amount in accordance with our policy above.
In the event that the training needs to be postponed due to restrictions or outcomes of Covid-19 your place will be secured at a future training of your choosing. Your deposit will not be refundable but rather transferable in this situation.
Stefan Camilleri Yoga does not accept any responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, changes, or losses caused by further acts of God, war, the threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, natural disasters, accidents, or any other events beyond our control. The same waiving of all liabilities also applies to students’ injuries, illnesses, medical or psychiatric conditions.
Special COVID-19 policies
Travel arrangements are your responsibility. We shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from delays or cancellations in any of the companies you may have made arrangements with, or for any irregularities in your documentation required for travel.
We advise you to book flights only once you have insurance that will cover a postponement, and at a date that is closer to the training to be sure all is going ahead. We recommend a 30-day lead time before confirming flights.
Due to the volatility of current events, changes may have to be made to the details of the course. We reserve the right to make any changes necessary.
